Ingleton Wood were appointed to provide a multi-disciplinary service from project conception to completion including detailed design and procurement.
Our brief was to extend the existing swimming pool to provide a new fitness gym, reconfigure the entrance area and redesign the existing dated changing areas which were not fit for purpose and the reconfiguration project provided the opportunity to update and redesign the systems.
These works were due to be undertaken whilst the swimming pool remained in operation, our representatives had to work extremely closely with the council’s estates team and pool management.
The new fitness suite has been a huge success with both staff and users. The new entrance area has modernised the facility and the changing village has enhanced safeguarding providing a much more user friendly area for all people including families, the disabled and elderly.
Attention to humidity control and positive pressurisation turned the changing area into a comfortable space. New, low energy lighting throughout creates a modern environment while reducing running costs.
The works also included the extension of the leisure centre’s car park. Tendring District Council’s representatives and members have been so pleased with the scheme that Ingleton Wood were also appointed to carry out a similar programme of works to Frinton and Walton swimming pool.
