Ingleton Wood were appointed as mechanical & electrical engineers and BREEAM Assessors for the new Sports Pavilion at Graham Solley Sports Development Centre in Sheffield. The Centre is the outdoor playing venue for Sheffield Hallam University.
The 10 hectare facility currently includes a flexible multi-use indoor hall, three full-size football pitches, four cricket pitches and a floodlit rugby pitch.
The new building includes changing facilities, offices, social rooms and catering facilities. The changing facilities are located on the ground floor with the social areas in the first floor with viewing balconies of the surrounding sports fields.
The new building is served with new mechanical and electrical services that are designed for optimal energy use and ergonomic design in conjunction with the client, local authority and BREEAM requirements.
The pavilion has allowed the sports centre to increase both the hours of use and the range of sports catered for. The site is now used not only by students, but also by local community teams including Sheffield United Cricket Club.
