Education for the 21st Century (E21C) and Coopers School in Chislehurst appointed Ingleton Wood to undertake the replacement of the dilapidated tennis courts and provide a floodlit Multi Use Games Area (MUGA). We undertook the design, planning and contract administration stages, seeing the project through from concept to completion.
The design encompassed three tennis, three basketball and three netball courts as well as a five-a-side football pitch. The MUGA was also provided with floodlighting and finished with a decorative blue coating over the porous macadam. The coating and lighting brings the pitch to life and actively entices students to play more sports during the school day, as well as after school use.
The MUGA was constructed in accordance with the guidelines of Sport England. The client’s requirements were met with the project completing on programme, within budget and to a high-quality finish. The project enhances the schools existing facilities and encourages learning through sports.
